DFZ Labs, the team behind the popular NFT project Deadfellaz, has launched its novel universal verification tool Coldlink.xyz, which the team says will as open up the future of digital asset ownership.

According to the press release, Coldlink.xyz is a universal verification and delegation tool that links “digital assets to anything, anywhere.”

More precisely, it is an application that allows users to authenticate on-chain ownership through a secondary wallet. There is no risk to the wallet or assets, the website states.

Typically, users need to connect a cold wallet to a delegation dapp, placing assets at risk. This defeats “the purpose of both delegation and cold storage,” the team argues. But via Coldlink, users can delegate without connecting to anything or signing any contracts, it says.

Through Coldlink.xyz, individuals can ‘coldlink’ any blockchain address to any other blockchain address. Furthermore, they can ‘coldlink’ it to any username or unique identifier across Web2, Web3, and real life.

This includes L1s, L2s, L3s, NFC chips, gaming usernames, social media handles, concert ticket numbers, secret code words, PO boxes, and more.

Also, the team highlights that the process is wallet-agnostic. Therefore, to complete a coldlink, there is no need for smart contract approvals, blind signing, or website connection.

Notably, ColdLinked wallets cannot move assets and can only confirm ownership.

The Coldlink.xyz team says that it aims to create a completely interoperable digital and physical landscape. It wants to boost digital assets adoption and development of secure blockchain and crypto technology.

DFZ Labs says it has been working on Coldlink.xyz since 2022. Initially, it aimed to create a secure, interoperable verification system for the community to access gaming developments. They would not need to delegate or connect their valuables to anything. The team notices, however, that they could solve a wider problem.

Coldlink.xyz is currently in beta phase. Users can create coldlinks from Ethereum or Solana to these two chains using any ETH/SOL wallet.

Notably, the team says it will be rolling out new L1, L2, and app/dapp integrations on a weekly basis.

Furthermore, over 150 projects, platforms, and creators will beta test the application’s private custom integrations. This includes Punks DAO, NFC Lisbon, Seedphrase, A Kid Called Beast, Deadfellaz, and more. Per the press release, use cases range from small community events to large-scale cross-chain campaigns.

Betty, CEO at DFZ Labs, commented that thanks to Coldlink.xyz, the team has “unlocked the interoperability and freedom of movement across the entire digital space that we had all hypothesized in 2021 during the boom of NFTs.”

Betty argues that users can now carry the value of digital assets with them across all of their spaces.

“Large scale, cross-chain drops can be executed easily without risking any assets, token-gated experiences and events can be facilitated by anyone and accessed without risk or KYC, perks and rewards can now flow between web3 and web2 platforms easily with little to no infrastructure change required on the web2 side,” the CEO writes.

Betty added that Coldlink.xyz will be announcing an “incredible amount of features” in the near future, which will enable the industry to build “more efficiently towards a fully blockchain-integrated future.”
